Dear friends,

In October of 2015, the St. Louis gaming community lost an amazing person. After a short struggle with neuroendocrine cancer, our good friend Ryan Walsh passed away at the age of 33. He was an incredible guy, a wonderful husband to his wife Janet, and the highlight of many a game night over the course of his life.

Several of us here at Gateway Games were very close with Ryan for many years, and we’d like to honor his memory by hosting a charity gaming event on International Table Top Day 2016. During this event, we want to celebrate Ryan’s passion for games and raise money for the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Center. It is our hope that, by playing our part in ending this disease, we might help others with the same diagnosis keep coming back for game night for years to come.

The Ryan Walsh Memorial ITTD Cancer Research Benefit will take place on from 12:00pm to 10:00pm on April 30th at the Arch Reactor Makerspace at 2215 Scott Avenue. We’ll have tons of games to play, refreshments on hand, and good times to be had all day long. You’ll find a PDF flyer for this event linked to the image above. Please feel free to print and share it with whomever you think might be interested.

We are also currently taking prize donations for a targeted raffle we plan on running throughout the event. We’ll accept all types of prizes small or large. And, because this is a targeted raffle, participants will decide where their tickets go, meaning that whomever takes home your donation is sure to enjoy it. Physical items are always great and, when combined with a gift certificate, it could be even better. However, no donation is ever too small.

We would also like to make this huge fundraiser an example of the joy gaming can bring to people’s lives.  To this end, we want to invite the many game developers in St. Louis to join us by setting up a table of their own to play a few rounds with fans while promoting their products. Bring some copies of your games, product literature, whatever you have. We only ask that you don’t sell your games during the event.

If you’d be interested in making a prize donation or setting up a table at the event (or both!), please email jamie@gatewaygames.us and let us know. If you’re donating, we will arrange a time to pick up the donation and provide a letter you can use to deduct the donation on your taxes. Even if you can’t donate or join us as a representative of your company, we encourage you to attend and roll some dice with us.

Thank you for your consideration,

Gateway Games
